Sam has been teaching guitar for 10 years. During this time, Sam has worked with students of all ages and experiences, from very young beginners to college music majors looking to further their music career. Many of Sam's students have gone on to great musical achievements and have attended programs such as Jazz for Teens, Lincoln Center Jazz Academy, the F.I.U. Jazz program, and the Berklee School of Music.
As a teacher, Sam finds it important to develop a strong musical and personal connection with each of his students and focuses on both the strengths and weaknesses of their musicianship. Practicing is key to any student's improvement, and Sam works with each of his students to help develop an efficient and organized practice regimen so each student attain their own specialized goals.
Sam specializes in teaching several styles of music including Jazz, rock, classic rock, finger-style, singer-songwriter, blues, and country.
Currently, Sam is the Director of Bands at Mark Murphy's Music in South Orange, NJ. He also teaches privately in the New York City area.
